DAFNE KLEIMAN
Buenos Aires, Argentina (1971) Es egresada de la FADU-UBA en Licenciatura en Diseño Gráfico (1997) y un Posgrado de Diseño cerámico (2020). Egresada de FADU-UNL en un posgrado en Museografía y Curaduría (2021). Cursa en Argentina y Uruguay numerosos talleres de pintura, composición, escultura, teoría del color y fotografía, entre otros. Asiste al taller de Cerámica Constructiva Cedartes y a la Escuela de Artes visuales Carlos M. Tonelli (2017-2020). Cursa Seminarios de teoría del arte y Programa de formación permanente de la Fundación de arte contemporáneo (FAC) / Zoco. Realiza Clínica de obra con Rebeca Mendoza y de Estrategia conceptual para el desarrollo de proyectos artísticos en la FAC con Fernando López Lage. Tras veinte años de trabajo en su estudio de Diseño y Comunicación en Buenos Aires, se instala en el campo y en la costa de Maldonado, Uruguay, donde reside y produce su obra. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1971. She graduated from FADU-UBA with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design (1997) and completed a Postgraduate Degree in Ceramic Design (2020). She also holds a Postgraduate Degree in Museography and Curatorship from FADU-UNL (2021). She has attended numerous workshops including painting, composition, sculpture, color theory, and photography among others, both in Argentina and Uruguay. She studied at the Constructive Ceramics Workshop Cedartes and at the Carlos M. Tonelli School of Visual Arts (2017-2020). She attended several art theory seminars and regularly participates in the Permanent Training Program at the Contemporary Art Foundation / Zoco. She has done an Artwork Clinic with Rebeca Mendoza and also a Conceptual Strategy Clinic for the Development of Artistic Projects at the Contemporary Art Foundation with Fernando López Lage. After twenty years of working in her Design and Communication studio in Buenos Aires, she moved to the countryside and coastal region of Maldonado, Uruguay, where she currently lives and produces her work. STATEMENT
Mi obra explora la relación ineludible entre lo humano y su entorno, utilizando lo morfológico y material para indagar sobre las conexiones que nos unen al mundo natural. La tierra, el agua, el aire y el fuego, son ontológicos al proceso cerámico y no actúan como meros recursos; funcionan como agentes activos en un ciclo de integración y transformación dentro de mi práctica. Cada pieza es un diálogo continuo entre estos elementos, donde los rituales de encuentro sugieren una percepción unificada y lo que parece disociado encuentra su lugar. Desde la práctica manual y la abstracción geométrica, mi trabajo enlaza lo ancestral, lo contemporáneo y también un futuro posible. Es una invitación a reflexionar sobre nuestra temporalidad y presencia en el universo como una parte más del vasto entramado que nos excede. My work explores the inescapable relationship between human beings and their environment, using form and materiality to investigate the connections that bind us to the natural world. Earth, water, air, and fire are intrinsic to the ceramic process; they are not merely resources but active agents in a cycle of integration and transformation within my practice. Each piece is a continuous dialogue between these elements, where rituals of encounter suggest a unified perception, and what seems dissociated finds its place. Through manual practice and geometric abstraction, my work weaves together the ancestral, the contemporary, and also a possible future. It is an invitation to reflect on our temporality and presence in the universe as part of the vast web that extends beyond us. EXPOSICIONES
